Here is the current state of the Winchester Cathedral ice rink linocut … nearly finished – just another shade of dark required on the choir boys and some of the windows.
And – as is now traditional – I took a black print early on.
I’ve also recently got some new water-based printing inks to try – so I’ve done a couple of the Winchester Cathedral prints using them.
I rather like them. It’s a bit harder to get coverage with them (since I’m not using a press) – but I like the chalky matt colours. Easier to photograph as well! Plus, because it was an experiment, I was more adventurous with the colours. And I love having prints that dry overnight (instead of over several months!)
