This image is from one of my original linocuts reproduced as a greetings card. It is inspired by the Bluedot Festival that usually takes place over several days in summer every year at Jodrell Bank. I went to the Bluedot Festival a few years ago – it’s a summer music festival with a science and space theme, all taking place beneath the huge radio telescope, which provides an amazing backdrop to events. As well as music, festival-goers can attend talks by famous scientists and astronomers, enjoy comedy routines, watch screenings and experiments, discuss science-fiction, etc.
Although cancelled due to Covid-19 for a second year, hopefully I will get the chance to return to this fascinating summer festival in the next year or two.
The card is 5″ by 7″ or 127mm high by 178mm wide landscape format with the fold at the side. The image has a narrow white border around it. It comes with diamond flap white envelope and clear cellophane sleeve. The card weight is 300gsm and is blank inside for your own message.
It would also look good framed!
I have another linocut print set at Jodrell Bank. See Barn Owl at Jodrell Bank for another greetings card featuring this gorgeous location.
