Description
Colour linocut of the front of Great Dixter in East Sussex, printed in oil-based inks on acid free paper.
Great Dixter linocut is approximately 37 cm high by 28 cm wide (roughly A3) and signed beneath by me, the artist. Variable edition of 50. Every linocut is hand printed and individual prints vary slightly from each other, so that you will own an individual work of art. These are not mass-produced at the printers but printed by me by burnishing the back with a spoon!
Your work of art will come ready mounted in white to fit a standard-sized A2 frame.
Great Dixter is famous for its cottage garden style gardens. It was the family home of gardener and gardening writer Christopher Lloyd, and is near Hastings, in the village of Northiam. The big old house provides a delightful backdrop to all the rampant greenery, and is occasionally open to the public. The gardens are open for most of the year except winter.
The distinctive and densely planted gardens are a dream for artists, and I will have to re-visit this subject again in the future! The surrounding village of Northiam is also very attractive, and many of the residents boast impressive gardens of their own.
Great Dixter linocut is also available as a blank greetings card.
