£12.50£18.50

This is a beautiful hand signed art print/poster from my original illustration of the Hackney Empire Theatre in London at night, with the show about to start – or perhaps already underway?

A great gift for anyone who loves London or the world of theatre. Or a wonderful addition to the walls of a home in Hackney or the East End!

Payment options will appear when you choose the size required.

Description

My portrait of Hackney Empire Theatre by Night is printed on fine thick quality paper and available in A4 or A3 sizes, which are easy to mount and frame.

There is a white border around the image to allow for the signature.

Some photos show how marvellous the print will look framed in different sizes, but please note that the print is sold unframed and without a mount.

All prints are individually signed by me, the artist, in pencil in the bottom right and include the title of the print.

Hackney Empire is a lovely theatre in the East End of London, in the inner city borough of Hackney.

It was built by great theatre architect Frank Matcham in 1901 as a music hall.

Charlie Chaplin, W. C. Fields, Stanley Holloway, Stan Laurel, Marie Lloyd, and Julie Andrews all performed here. Like many former musical halls, it has a more intimate relaxed atmosphere than many West End theatres.

The Empire went through some hard times and was threatened with demolition in the 1980s – but campaigners (and some notable actors) were able to save it. It’s now known for its very popular annual pantomime, and for its championing of black performers and culture within Hackney.

Your print of Hackney Empire Theatre by Night will be sent by Royal Mail and presented in a cello bag with a cardboard back for protection or onward delivery.
