Description
This quality greetings card shows one of my original illustrations of London’s National Theatre in purple and gold.
A good card for fans of London, London theatre or modern architecture!
The National Theatre is in central London on the south bank of the Thames. It is part of the Southbank arts complex that was planned from the early 1950s after a successful national fair on the land. The theatre itself opened in 1976. It is in the Brutalist style, which is very distinctive and different from London’s historical vernacular, and is both loved and loathed in equal measure! Its three auditoriums offer superb sightlines compared to the pillar-infested and largely Edwardian West End.
The National Theatre is partially state-funded and has had many outstanding theatre productions over the years, many of which transfer to the commercial West End.
