My large colour linocut of the Royal Albert Hall at night reproduced as a greetings card.
The card is 5″ by 7″ or 127mm high by 178mm wide landscape format with the fold at the top (tent fold). The image has a narrow white border around it. It comes with diamond flap white envelope and clear cellophane sleeve. The card weight is 300gsm and is blank inside for your own message. UK p&p included in price.
A great card for a music lover, concert goer or Proms enthusiast! It would also look good framed!
The Royal Albert Hall was built to act as London’s village hall – a venue for all sorts of performances and events. There’s no other venue in Britain like it, and its circular auditorium has the most amazing atmosphere when full of spectators. The annual BBC Promenade concerts of classical music take place here.
I used to work for a while at the Albert Hall and had to deal with frantic late-comers like those you can see just arriving in the linocut.
I was very fortunate in being able to see some wonderful performers, including the Bolshoi Ballet, from both the best seats and from the gallery at the top. There is no venue like it, and the atmosphere when it is full of people is tremendous. I once looked in on the auditorium when it was empty and pitch black, and you could sense the spirit of all those audiences over the years in that immense space.
A card is also available of my linocut of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
