7″x5″ greetings card of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre by the Thames in London, taken from one of my linocuts. Blank inside for your own message. It comes with a white envelope and cellophane wrap. UK p&p included in price.
The card is 7″ by 5″ or 178mm high by 127mm wide portrait format with the fold on the long side. The image does not go right to the edge of the front side but has a narrow white border. The card comes with diamond flap white envelope and clear cellophane sleeve. The card weight is 300gsm and is blank inside for your own message.
It would also look good framed!
I love the Shakespeare’s Globe theatre and remember going there several times during its first season after opening. During a memorable production of Henry V, the weather joined in and there was real thunder and lightning during the battle scenes!
Shakespeare’s Globe is a modern reproduction of a theatre of Shakespeare’s day – a unique venue partially open to the elements – giving theatre-goers the chance to experience Shakespeare’s plays as they would have been originally performed, in daylight and with an potentially unruly crowd of “groundlings” standing around the stage. The repertoire is usually pretty varied but, of course, does include a lot of Shakespeare!
Let’s hope we can all get back to enjoying theatre again soon!
