This beautiful image of part of the famous west front of Wells Cathedral is taken from my original linocut. I am from Somerset and have often visited this lovely cathedral. Its equally delightful Bishop’s Palace stands nearby (which will definitely feature in another linocut at some stage). The whole area is stunning.
The cathedral dates back to around 1175. Among other things, it is noted for its glorious West Front with many sculpted figures, the stone staircase to the Chapterhouse (used as a location in many medieval TV dramas and films), and delightful astronomical clock.
A great card for lovers of linocut art, English architecture or Wells. It would also look good framed!
