Barn owl at Jodrell Bank greetings card

I sometimes stray from lovely East Sussex and am fascinated by some of the structures of scientific exploration such as telescopes and observatories. This is my large linocut of a barn owl flying through the night sky near the radio telescopes at Jodrell Bank, Cheshire reproduced as a greetings card.

I was inspired by the contrast between our man-made eyes upon the night sky and the creatures that are at home in those skies. The barn owl is part of the wild natural world that we are still learning so much about thanks to the imagination and skill of scientists.

The card is 5″ by 7″ (or 127mm high by 178mm wide) and comes with a white envelope and  cellophane sleeve. The card is blank inside for your own message.

It would also look good framed!

If you like this image of Jodrell Bank, you might like my other linocut of the observatory, which features in my blog here. I was inspired by my visit to the annual Bluedot Festival which takes place under the radio telescopes there.
