This beautiful travel poster of Shetland, Scotland is inspired by the vintage railway posters advertising the joys of British travel. It shows one of the old harbourside houses in Lerwick, the capital of the Shetland Isles.

This particular house has become a favourite with tourists as as the exterior was used in several scenes on TV’s Shetland series, based on the detective stories by Ann Cleves.

The Shetland Islands have a fascinating atmosphere, due to the mix of Scottish and Scandinavian culture. The islands are particularly famed for the Viking-style Up Helly Aa festival in January, which features a burning Viking longship. The islands are also a haven for sea birds, and home to some distinctive domestic animal breeds – the world-famous Shetland pony and the Sheltie sheepdog (a miniature “lassie” type collie).

This is a digital copy of my original illustration and is printed on quality paper in A4 or A3 sizes. These are standard sizes and easy to mount and frame. There is a white border around the image to allow for the signature. Some photos show how lovely the print will look framed, but please note that the print is sold unframed and without a mount.

I sign all the prints in pencil in the bottom right and include the title of the print.

I will send A4 and A3 prints by Royal Mail, presented in a cello bag with a cardboard back for protection or onward delivery. International deliveries may be sent rolled in a tube.
