I grew up in Somerset and enjoyed researching this map – discovering some corners of the county that I knew less well – like the neolithic stone circle at Stanton Drew, as well as the quirky old toll booth in the area which is now a holiday cottage (I believe). I’ve also included the county flag, with its dragon, and the Waverley steam ship, which has frequently visited the Bristol Channel.
