The Surrey Map greetings card features my colourful map of this surprisingly green and leafy county just south of London. Surrey is known for Box Hill and the Surrey Hills; several racecourses, Thorpe Park, the Thames Path, vineyards, and the gardens at RHS Wisley – plus Surrey was also the setting for the Martian destruction of England in HG Wells’ War of the Worlds science fiction novel – which is celebrated by a statue in Woking.

This is a county of wealthy and attractive market towns and charming villages where cricket is played on the village green.
